About the Summit

The National Teachers Hall of Fame, in partnership with Pegasus Springs Education Collective, is excited to open the Call for Proposals for our 2027 Education Summit, Celebrating Our Profession, Inspiring Our Future, taking place June 28–30, 2027, at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, Walt Disney World® Resort, Florida.

This Summit brings together NTHF inductees, classroom educators, administrators, students, and education stakeholders from across the country for three days of shared learning and connection. We hope you’ll consider sharing your voice — and your light — as part of it.

This Year’s Focus: Leadership

The 2027 Summit is centered on leadership — the kind that lives in every classroom. We’re looking for proposals that lift up educator and student leadership and promote teacher advocacy: sessions that help educators see themselves, and their students, as leaders capable of shaping the future of our profession.

We want proposals that speak broadly, not narrowly. Rather than subject-specific sessions, we’re prioritizing ideas that resonate across grade levels and disciplines — the kind of session an elementary teacher, a high school department chair, and a school leader could all walk away from having gained something.

Proposals should align with one of four strands:

• Being the Change — advocating for our students, our discipline(s), and our profession
• Centering Students — cultivating self-efficacy, ownership, and agency in students as learners and leaders
• Leading Without Leaving — crafting your own career ladder, supporting colleagues along the way
• Shaping the Future of Education — interrogating the status quo and defining new paradigms.

These strands are meant to spark your thinking, not box it in — we welcome proposals that stretch them in new directions.

Three Ways to Present

This year, we’re offering three proposal formats so you can choose the one that fits your idea best:

Breakout Workshop Sessions (60 minutes) — Interactive workshops or panels that give participants time to dig in, discuss, and leave with something they can use. Lecture-style presentations won’t be considered — we’re looking for sessions built around hands-on engagement.

Burst Sessions (20 minutes) — New this year. A Burst is a focused, high-impact presentation built around a single, easy-to-convey idea or practice. Think of it as a spark, not a deep dive — a compact session that gives participants one clear takeaway they can act on immediately.

Poster Sessions — Also new this year. Posters will be on display throughout the Summit, giving attendees the chance to explore great practices and learning opportunities at their own pace, and to connect directly with presenters afterward for more information. This is a great option for sharing an idea that might otherwise reach only a small audience, or to spark conversations during informal networking time.

How Many Proposals Can I Submit?

You can submit up to two topics. There’s no pressure to fill every format or tackle a second topic, submit whatever mix best reflects the ideas you want to bring to the Summit. You can submit anywhere from one proposal (a Workshop covering one subject, in one format) up to six proposals (covering up to two subjects, across three formats: Workshop, Burst and Poster). What to Include in Your Proposal

• Presenter(s) information: Name, contact information, role and title
• A bio for each presenter not to exceed 30 words
• What format you are submitting: Workshop, Burst or Poster session (can be more than one)
• Indicate which of the 4 strands your topic is aligned with (select one)
• Title of your presentation: not to exceed 70 characters
• For WORKSHOP PROPOSAL: A clear description of your workshop, including how you will actively engage your audience (Max 100 words; this will be used in the program) AND/OR
• For BURST PROPOSAL: What is the idea you want to convey in a compact presentation? What is the one clear takeaway attendees can act on immediately? (Max 50 words)AND/OR
• For POSTER PROPOSAL: What great practice or learning opportunity will you convey in your poster that can convey information or spark conversation? (Max 50 words)

• Notification of Acceptance: January 5, 2027
