Kevin Wade Garrison

Kevin Wade Garrison, born September 13, 1967, passed away on September 4, 2024, while serving Elkhorn Public Schools. A longtime maintenance supervisor with nearly 20 years of dedicated service, Kevin tragically lost his life during a routine maintenance operation at Elkhorn North High School. Kevin began his journey as an arborist before joining the Elkhorn Public Schools maintenance department, where his work quietly ensured safe, thriving learning environments.

On the morning of September 4, Kevin entered a geothermal well on the school grounds to address a technical issue. He became unresponsive inside the well, and first responders discovered him soon after.

Kevin is deeply mourned by his wife, Deb (an Elkhorn Public Schools principal); their daughters Rachel and Nicole (a current district teacher); as well as his parents, Danny and Dorene, and three siblings. Kevin’s steadfast dedication ensured that educational spaces remained safe and functional for nearly two decades. His quiet expertise exemplifies the countless unsung heroes who support our schools each day.

We remember Kevin not just for the tragic circumstances of his passing, but for a lifetime of unseen contributions to his school community.
