A central issue in Carla’s work is student mental, emotional, and physical health, which she sees as foundational to learning and equity. She integrates wellness practices into her classroom and advocates for systemic support, including increased access to mental health resources. Ultimately, her work is guided by the belief that education is a transformative force. By building relationships, honoring student voice, and creating meaningful, inclusive learning experiences, she empowers students not only to succeed academically but to become confident leaders capable of shaping their own futures.
